GLOBAL REWARD
Many multinational companies are now adopting a global reward strategy to manage pay and benefits across their international locations. However, this is most likely to form a framework from which to work, as practice in each country has to reflect the local market. We spoke to three international reward experts about how to approach reward practice on a global level. We also look at how Rentokil Initial introduced a global grading structure.

Wherever you are operating in the world, getting the message across to employees about what reward and benefits are on offer is vital in getting maximum benefit from your remuneration package. We examine different ways in which employers communicate with employees about reward, and the benefits of getting it right.

The Low Pay Commission's (LPC) 1.8% increase to the national minimum wage is the lowest for four years and is set against a background of tough economic conditions for employers. We look in more detail at the LPC's report and find that it is also pushing the Government to do more to increase knowledge of, and compliance with, the minimum wage. It adds that the Government should review its guidance for employers on the minimum wage.
