LABOUR TURNOVER RATES 2012
Labour turnover rates are a key measure of an organisation's health, and generally reflect the state of the economy as a whole.

Our latest annual survey on this issue finds that, on average, the highest resignation rates in the economy were experienced by private-sector-services employers at 11%, compared with 5.7% in manufacturing and production and 6.7% in the public sector.

The higher level of voluntary departures in private-sector services suggests that this sector is beginning to recover from the effects of the difficult economic climate. In sharp contrast, the public sector is in the middle of considerable spending cuts.

Elsewhere, we include highlights from Occupational Health magazine, including a report of a gathering in Wales of GPs and occupational health teams to discuss the impact of fitness-for-work statements on sickness absence.
