XpertHR's 2013 annual leave survey provides a view of annual leave policies at 208 organisations, covering 391 employee groups. We find that the median number of days given to full-time employees as paid annual leave shows no change from our 2011 research.

Annual leave is a fundamental part of an employee's benefits package. Our latest research gives an up-to-date picture on the amount of annual leave that employers are offering to employee groups. It also looks at how they deal with bank and public holidays and reports on the various formulas used to calculate holiday.

While we continue to await the outcome of the Government's consultation on dealing with employees who become ill or injured before or during scheduled annual leave, our own research can tell you how employers are dealing with these issues in the face of some contradictory legal positions.

We also include the latest edition of Occupational Health magazine, which is written specifically for those managing health at work. It includes a look at the Government's response to the sickness absence review from David Frost and Dame Carol Black.
